Each card has the 'latest' available version, so should return true. a similar detection we use for Driver version (outdated) based on WMI. Not saying you are wrong, just needing to factor it in. Checking against the software version would be a single detection. inf detection vs software version is not all Wifi cards use the same driver version with the latest app version, so you would need to factor in all cards in use in your fleet. The weird thing is the pdf documentation for the new version even mentions the software, and that it was updated to include "functional and security updates". I even checked both Uninstall registry locations, and nothing's appearing there. But nope, no Intel software was installed, just the updated drivers. exe just so I could try to get the product code easily. On top of that, I realized my PC has one of the compatible wireless NICs, so I went ahead and installed it using the. exe contents and the zip file contents, and I'm not seeing anything there. And I don't really like guessing when it comes to pushing out anything with SCCM, let alone drivers.Įdit: OK, so, this is annoying.apparently the "PROSet Wireless 22.80.1" installer and zip file doesn't actually install the PROSet Wireless software. Has anyone else run into situations like this, and what have you done? Because I can try putting anything into the detection method config, but without being able to test it, I'm literally just guessing. The version of the installer is 22.80.1, but I can't be 100% sure the driver version is the same (it should be, but who knows). exe installer, and I don't have a device I can install the updated driver on, so I can't get the product code, or verify where it installs any files to and exactly what the file versions are, or the results of any PowerShell queries, or anything. I have the collection, I have the driver installer, I have everything else I need, except for a detection method. So, I need to setup a deployment for a new Intel Wireless driver to remediate a known vulnerability.
